Betty Grable
Born Elizabeth Ruth Grable on December 18, 1916 in Saint Louis, Missouri, Betty Grable made her first motion picture appearance at the age of 13 in the 1930 film Let's Go Places.
Over the next decade Grable would appear in small roles in a variety of film projects, and eventually began to star in lead roles in 1940. She was a popular singer, actress and pin-up girl during World War II, and was particularly well-known for her legs. Grable died of cancer on July 3, 1973.
While pleading for his life after his capture by Captain Miller's squad, Steamboat Willie makes reference to Betty Grable's legs, which were featured in a pin-up poster that was popular with many soldiers.
